As the real start of this trip is getting nearer and nearer, I've decided to tell you more about the travel plan.
Right now I'm staying at my grandmom's place in Paris before leaving on Thursday 9th evening to Santiago de Chile. I should arrive in Santiago on 10-Apr and stay there till the 16th of April. As I've been told that Santiago is less interesting to visit than the nearing city of Valparaiso, I guess I'll head to Valparaiso for a few days before coming back to Santiago on 15th evening.
In the morning of the 16th (or should I say night?) I'll be heading to the airport and catch a flight to Punta Arenas from there. Punta Arenas is the southernmost city of continental Chile. From there you can reach by plan/boat the Land of Fire (Tierra del Fuego) which is the southernmost inhabited land of earth (it's hard to call Antartica an inhabited land :P) Depending on weather, the plan is then to either go to Tierra del Fuego or head directly north to Patagonia... and then north to Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia.... The plan is to reach Peru end of May and then Colombia around mid-June. After Colombia is Central America where I'll visit quickly (depending on time) Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico. Mexico should be reached by beginning of August to have enough time to see Palenque, Chichen Itza before spending a few days with friends in Playa del Carmen.
Then on 13-Aug, I'll take a plane to France (Paris) where I'm supposed to attend my brother's wedding on 22-Aug and take this as an opportunity to ask for a Chinese visa.
Then beginning of September, I should head to Asia, maybe Japan or Thailand or directly China. And then the plans are blurred... I just now I wanna take some Mandarin courses in Qingdao's university and see places like Giulin, Xi'an, Lanzhou... and maybe Tibet if I can get a visa for there.
That's all for now! I'll try to update this blog as soon as I arrive in South America.
