Nanjing (05/11-Nov)

I decided to start my tour in China by going to the region around Shanghai... well region is probably too small compared to the area really covered, probably the size of Italy.... but well this is China :P

The first stop of this tour was Nanjing, former imperial capital of China, also known as Nankin. This town hosts many old and nice buildings, temples, palaces... and was definitely worth visiting. The only problem was the weather... I had left the warm Hong Kong to reach the cold and rainy Jiangsu. So I probably did not get the real spirit of this town... cause in the end I did not really like it. I mean the town is nice... but visiting gardens went it's cold and raining cats and dogs or walking around parks when it's cold made it probably less interesting. I dunno... Nanjing is supposed to be a really nice town so I guess I did not see it properly, that's all. Appart from that I was again surprised cause this town does not host many foreigners, still several people in hotels, shops, restaurants, speak english... and having an english menu is common (though you do not get one all the time).
